在研究我国中小企业生命周期现象的基础上，基于深圳、广州、长沙、郑州、成都等五城市在2000-2007年间注销的中小企业数据信息，对五城市中小企业生命周期与中小企业外部环境的关系展开评价和比较分析，揭示了中小企业生命周期与其外部环境的关系与内在机理，并分别从政府与企业的角度提出如何延长我国中小企业生命周期的相关对策建议.
