研究人员表示，如果持续使用一款抗逆转录病毒的杀菌剂凝胶，可以令半数妇女免受HIV感染。联合国艾滋病规划署（UNAIDS）报告称，目前全球共有33,000,000人感染HIV，其中一半为女性。在南非，20-34岁的妇女群体，每三人中就有一人感染HIV。鉴于非洲撒哈拉以南新感染HIV的人口中60%就是女性，人们感到开发为这个群体开发预防HIV的治疗方法迫在眉睫。
目的：在于描述MRI（磁共振）及MRCP (磁共振胰胆管成像术)下HIV感染者的肝脏、胰腺及胆道系统的表现。结论：HIV感染者MRI的波谱及MRCP的影像学表现包括急性或慢性肝炎（或急慢性都有）、胰腺炎、无结石胆囊炎及类似与原发性硬化性胆管炎的胆道狭窄。艾滋病患者表现出来的节段性肝外胆管狭窄即为艾滋病患者特有的艾滋病相关性胆管病变。
