根据长江口历年海图，分析南港瑞丰沙串沟的形成机理.瑞丰沙头南淤导致南港上段主流南偏，主流受南岸顶托后，使南港中段主流北偏并冲刷瑞丰沙体下段形成串沟.20世纪90年代末，宝山北水道的发展以及南沙头通道丰富的泥沙来源是瑞丰沙头南淤的主要成因.2002年9月的南港实测水文资料以及水动力模拟结果证实了南港主流的摆动情况.
