EDF 位于萨默塞特的英国欣克利角 C 核电站正在就在帕雷特河上建造 800 多英亩盐沼的计划征求意见。布里奇沃特附近的波利特哈姆斯拟建盐沼将为鱼类和动物创造新的栖息地，改善当地水质并有助于防止洪水。这是帮助塞文河口周围野生动物和环境的几项拟议措施之一。其中包括种植海草和海带、开发本地牡蛎养殖场以及拆除三条河流上的堰以帮助洄游鱼类到达繁殖地。
