2021年8月1日，中国科学院水生生物研究所主办的英文期刊《Water Biology and Security》（简称WBS）召开第一届编委会第一次会议。中国海洋大学宋微波院士、中国地质大学（武汉）校长王焰新院士、中国海洋大学包振民院士，以及WBS期刊国内主编、中国科学院水生生物研究所桂建芳院士等30余位编委专家参加会议。会议由WBS期刊副主编缪炜研究员主持，采用线上线下相结合的方式进行。
